How badly did your team fuck up at the trade deadline? Scroll down to find out more!

1. Seattle

Got a ton of picks out of that deadline, might have a terrible roster with a lot of guys parted out but a ton of 2nd round picks means a nice war chest to go after some cap strapped teams.

Grade: B+

2. Ottawa

Zach Senyshyn is a scrub and the idea of trading for Travis Hamonic for the sole purpose of playing with Jake Sanderson is some crazy people shit. At least getting Mathieu Joseph as part of the Nick Paul trade was a pretty smart move but giving up an asset to let Vancouver off the hook of a horrid contract is embarassing

Grade: D-

3. New Jersey

Where to start… failing to cash in on Ryan Graves and Damon Severson are clearly the biggest mistakes, but holding onto guys who have no future with the team like Pavel Zacha, Jimmy Vesey and PK Subban (even a mutual termination would’ve been fine) seems questionable. That and the one move they needed to make still hasn’t happened and doesn’t seem like it will happen since it would require Tom Fitzgerald to fire his woefully unqualified friends. But hey, at least they got a goalie that isn’t Jon Gillies!

Grade: Is there a grade lower than an F?

4. Arizona

They didn’t get to trade Jakob Chychrun which might be a blessing in disguise. Still managed to do quite a bit of tidy business with all the trades. That being said claiming the guy the Leafs signed that had to clear waivers is absolutely hilarious.

Grade: A+ for trolling the Leafs, B- for everything else

5. Philadelphia

Trading Giroux for an underwhelming return is understandable given that Chuck Fletcher had his hands tied, but there’s a lot of really bad decision making here. Justin Braun and Derrick Brassard for mid round picks are fine, but that’s probably the high point of this deadline. The worst trade is the one he didn’t make- extending Rasmus Ristolainen is pure unadulterated microwave brain. At least Philly will have the leg up on nearly everyone else in the Connor Bedard sweepstakes.

Grade: F

6. Detroit

The Wings got quite a bit for Leddy, Sundqvist is kinda overpaid but useful, Walman seems like a decent depth guy who might do more with a larger opportunity and a 2nd is good too, but none of those are really moving the needle. Getting a 7th for Stetcher seems kinda underwhelming too.

Grade: C+

7. Montreal

Got way more than he should’ve for Chiarot, managed to get a pretty big piece back for Lehkonen in Justin Barron (and boy could they ever use him) and got a pretty decent haul for Brett Kulak. Still quite a lot of work to be done but the early results of the Hughes/Gorton tandem are extremely promising.

Grade: A

8. Buffalo

Got a 6th for Robert Hagg, other than that they were all probably just laughing at Jack Eichel.

Grade: *shrug*

9. Chicago

Who knows where those Tampa picks are gonna end up but getting two 1sts and two NHL caliber players in exchange for Brandon Hagel. Turning Fleury into at least a 2nd rounder (a 1st if the Wild somehow manage to get past Colorado) is a bit of good work, although it feels like they could’ve done more

Grade: A-

10. San Jose

The Sharks didn’t do a ton but extending Tomas Hertl seems like a questionable move given that the Sharks should probably be rebuilding and not doubling down on a group that can’t win. Turning a guy like Jake Middleton into Kaapo Kahkonen is a pretty big W, but it doesn’t negate making a move that hurts them more than helps.

Grade: D

11. Vancouver

They swapped a mediocre defenseman named Travis for a less mediocre defenseman named Travis. Tyler Motte was traded for a 4th and they didn’t flip JT Miller or Conor Garland. Really, the biggest W here was not trading for Pavel Zacha.

Grade: C-

12. Anaheim

If Anaheim uses all the picks they got from the Lindholm, Manson and Rakell trades to add more talent this deadline could look fantastic. Getting some players back (Aston-Reese, Vaakanainen and Helleson) definitely makes things look better.

Grade: A

13. Columbus

They basically gave away Max Domi, that’s basically it.

Grade: why bother

14. New York Islanders

Not sure what the Islanders plan is but Cal Clutterbuck and the corpse of Zach Parise are back for at least another season.

Grade: Braaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinsssssssssssssssssssssss

15. Winnipeg

Mostly a lot of chairs being shuffled around on the Titanic but the Copp trade seems like a pretty nice haul for a guy they might not have been able to keep. Bryan Little went from the fake Jets to the former Jets which is hilarious.

Grade: C

16. Dallas

Not trading Klingberg is a mistake. Then again I’m not sure what Jim Nill’s deal is since Tom Fitzgerald is now the offseason champion.

Grade: Are the Stars imploding again?

17. Vegas

Apparently Evgenii Dadonov had the Ducks on their NTC, now they can’t activate some players because the salary cap exists. This rules

Grade: lmao owned binch

18. Los Angeles

Getting Troy Stetcher for nothing was a decent add given their injury woes on the blueline. Really, the big positive here is that they didn’t make a big move for what’s probably not going to be a long playoff run

Grade: Pass

19. Nashville

*looks at all the shitty defensemen that were acquired* what was Mirco Mueller unavailable?

Grade: They had Matt Tennyson why do they need more shitty defensemen

20. St. Louis

Getting Nick Leddy is a “this is fine” kind of move. Probably could’ve done a whole lot better but they could’ve also done a whole lot worse.

Grade: Pass

21. Edmonton

Wow, the Oilers made some reasonable moves!

Grade: B, but I feel like I shouldn’t give Ken Holland too much credit.

22. Minnesota

The Marc-Andre Fleury trade looks like a very good move and if they do end up giving up a 1st in that deal it means they made it past Colorado. Also managed to get back a 2nd for Jack McBain which is pretty nice. Losing Kahkonen sucks but probably not going to matter all that much since they’ve got Jesper Wallstedt coming in pretty soon.

Grade: B-

23. Washington

Adding Johan Larsson was a nice bit of business but I’m not sure why they’d bring Marcus Johansson back given that his brain is basically all mush.

Grade: C+

24. Toronto

Getting Giordano and Blackwell were great additions but they didn’t do anything to address their goaltending problems beyond hoping no one would claim a 31 year old KHL goalie.

Grade: B-

25. New York Rangers

The Rangers probably should’ve done more to try and land someone like Lehkonen but the moves they made were mostly fine, which I assume was more that they didn’t want to move high value assets like firsts or top prospects. That being said mostly fine probably doesn’t feel like enough and Andrew Copp is the only real needle mover of the bunch.

Grade: B

26. Pittsburgh

Rickard Rakell is a very good addition but I’m not so sure about Nathan Beaulieu, even if they’re probably getting him for free.

Grade: C+

27. Tampa

That’s a lot for Brandon Hagel. I get they’re getting him for very little for 3 years but that’s quite a lot just for one guy. Getting Nick Paul for not a lot is pretty nice

Grade: B+

28. Boston

Hampus Lindholm is a good addition but Hampus Lindholm isn’t solving the team’s crippling center problems. You know what would’ve solved their center problems? Drafting Mathew Barzal 7 years ago. Ah well at least they have Zach Senyshyn who got traded for *checks notes* a 5th rounder and Josh Brown.

Grade: Oh shit

29. Calgary

Adding a defenseman would’ve been nice but they shored up their forward depth quite a bit with Jarnkrok and Carpenter. Hard to complain.

Grade: A-

30. Florida

Getting Claude Giroux for nothing is great but trading a 1st and a prospect for Ben Chiarot is pure stupidity. Either they think they can get something out of him or they just gave Tampa, Colorado and Calgary an achilles heel to shoot at.

Grade: C-

31. Carolina

We’re getting season 2 of Watch Your Tone. Good fucking job Waddell or Tulsky or whoever thought this was a good idea

Grade: Cursed

32. Colorado

They gave up a lot to get what they got- Lehkonen is worth giving up Barron and Josh Manson pushes Jack Johnson out of the lineup. If Bowen Byram can stay healthy then they’ve basically got no real weaknesses at this point.

Grade: A-
